The Syndicate Charter
Article I – Name and Purpose
​
1. The organization shall be known as The Blackjack Syndicate (“the Syndicate”).
2. The Syndicate exists to:

Create a private fellowship of members who enjoy blackjack, poker, and related games of skill and chance.

Host events blending gaming, food, and social engagement in a safe, respectful, and entertaining environment.
3. Promote camaraderie, fair play, and friendly competition.
Article II – Founding Members

1. The Syndicate is hereby established by the following Founding Members:

Thomai
2. Founding Members hold permanent recognition as the Original Six and shall have guiding influence over Syndicate traditions.
Article III – Membership
​
1. Eligibility: Membership is open by invitation only. Candidates must be sponsored by a current member.

Tiers:
-
Green Chip (Entry): Guest-level, eligible to attend events but with limited privileges.

High Roller (Full Member): Voting rights, participation in official games, eligible to host.
-
Apex (Elite Member): Reserved for distinguished contributors; access to exclusive events and priority seating.

2. Dues/Buy-ins: Event participation requires contributions determined by the host committee.
Article IV – Governance

1. Syndicate Council: Comprised of the six Founding Members; decisions are made by majority vote.
2. Rotating Host System: Each event shall have a Host Committee responsible for:

Venue selection

Food and beverage coordination
-
Game setup and rules clarification
3. Quorum: At least 50% of active members must be present for official decisions.
Article V – Code of Conduct
​
1. Members shall:

Respect fellow members and guests at all times.
-
Uphold fairness and transparency in all gaming activities.
-
Maintain confidentiality regarding Syndicate affairs (“what happens at the table, stays at the table”).
-
Refrain from actions that bring disrepute to the Syndicate.
Article VI – Events
​
1. Core Event: Blackjack & Poker Night — featuring structured play, food, and beverage.
2. Special Events: Themed nights (e.g., Casino Royale, Vegas Throwback, Charity Pot).
3. Leaderboards: Tracking wins and buy-ins may be maintained for bragging rights (not mandatory).
Article VII – Amendments
​
1. Amendments to this Charter may be proposed by any Founding Member.
2. Approval requires a 2/3 majority vote of the Syndicate Council.
Article VIII – Dissolution
​
1. Should the Syndicate disband, any remaining pooled funds shall be used for one final farewell event, hosted by the Original Six.

Article IX – Treasury & Tribute
​
The Syndicate thrives on tribute. No table is set without the pot being full, and no game begins without each member’s stake. The Keeper of the Pot safeguards these contributions, ensuring that every gathering is well supplied and that no Host is left to carry the burden alone.
1. The office of Treasurer shall be held by Thomai, recognized as the Keeper of the Pot. The Treasurer maintains custody of all Syndicate funds and records contributions, dues, donations, and disbursements.
2. Payment of Dues

Membership dues are to be paid monthly, in advance.

Preferred: Online payment through the Syndicate’s website using PayPal or via
phone by Apple Pay, or Zelle.

Cash at the day of the event may be accepted if advance payment was not
possible.
-
Members who have not paid dues will be excluded from attending events until payment is made in full.
3. Syndicate funds shall be used solely for the purchase of food, beverages, snacks, supplies, and approved enhancements for sanctioned events, unless otherwise directed by the Syndicate Council.
4. Surplus Funds. Should funds remain in the Syndicate treasury after covering event costs, such surplus shall be directed toward enhancing the member experience. Acceptable uses include:

Hosting a special themed event or feast,

Upgrading shared gaming equipment or supplies,
-
Sponsoring a group outing, or
-
Rolling over into the next month’s pot.
The specific use of surplus funds shall be determined by the Syndicate Council.
5. A Donation Page is available on the Syndicate’s website.
Donations may be made at any time for various purposes, including gambling money for underaged members, movie rentals, special event enhancements, or other items agreed upon by the Syndicate.
Donations are voluntary and do not substitute for membership dues.
6. Gaming Pot

Money used for gaming shall be contributed separately from membership dues.

Buy-ins for gambling chips may be made in cash or by table transfer using Zelle,
PayPal, or Apple Pay.

Gambling chips shall be purchased at the beginning of play, and payouts will be
issued at the conclusion of the event.

If sufficient cash is available at the table, payouts shall be made in cash at the end of the event.

If cash reserves are insufficient, payouts to winners shall be issued via Apple Pay, CashApp, Zelle, or PayPal, as determined by the Treasurer.
